Yahoo! IDs Are Coming Next Weeks
Looks like it will be just a few more days before the new IDs are ready. Our projected launch is Monday, and barring any yuckiness you'll be greeted with a brand new login system that day. However, if we find any bugs, we'll hold off a few more days in order to crush them with resounding finality.
In the meantime, over the next few days you may see some wonkiness with MyBlogLog, like crazy comment faces behavior, avatars not showing, stats and links not tracking well, etc. As always, we apologize profusely for any growing pains. Thanks for your patience!
Hot Member: Derami
Kurt contributes to one of the most entertaining sites I've had the privilege to spotlight here. Web Urbanist is a feast for those who are fascinated by surroundings.
One question at Web Urbanist drew me in from the most recent post:
Have you ever been drawn to the calm beauty of abandoned buildings, or
even tempted to explore forbidden structures in the urban landscape?
Who hasn't? I know that my being a history nerd made me really love this site, but even those of you who don't have an interest in The Troubles or the homeless may find this site intriguing because of posts that show off street art and favorite images from Stumbleupon. The site is a visual feast.
Go check out Kurt's profile, Derami, and view both of his communities, Web Urbanist and All Sux Dot Com. We owe Kurt a huge round of gratitude for making the Wikipedia entry happen, and the least we can do it show off his great, great site. Plus, he's kinda cute too

Customer Service Email Issue
It appears that a rogue spam filter is preventing all customer service emails from getting to us today. We are working to get this fixed, but today emails to our domain are probably going to bounce back to you.
Until the error is remedied, if you have a question, you can view our Help page, our Customer Service page, or for immediate help, join the Users Helping Users group (include your MyBlogLog ID for approval to the list).
MyBlogLog is a WebWare 100 Finalist
Rafe Needleman at Cnet just sent me a note letting me know that MyBlogLog is a finalist in their WebWare 100 Awards -- super cool. We're in the Community category, with a bunch of other great services, so we're just honored to be a part of such an illustrious group of sites.
If you're so inclined, please check out the list of community nominees or heck, just click here to vote for us!

Just so there’s no confusion…
MyBlogLog WILL be moving to Yahoo IDs for login purposes in the next couple of months. As soon as possible, actually. I'm going to post this on a weekly basis so that it sinks in.
Also, since we keep getting emails about it, we're still not sure what's going to happen with the name. Some people like it. Some people are confused by it. Some people would like to see it sitting next to the Titanic. Joining the Yahoo! family seems a good time to look for something better fitting than "My Blog Stats" but who knows. We're trying to figure out what would be best for the community moving forward, and if you have any thoughts, drop it in a comment.
Lastly, I'm thinking about going to Coachella this year. A reformed RATM would be a blast to see, but seriously, I'm all about the Crowded House reunion day three. Has anyone gone in past years, cuz I'd love to hear what you thought. And if anyone is going this year, maybe we can hook up at the show.

It’s Alive!!!
Sound like it was working for at least some people when we thought it was down, but I'm glad to report that it's back to 100%. Sorry for any inconvenience, stress, upset stomachs or sexual side effects we may have caused.
Where the @#$* is the Recent Readers javascript?
Because of the way we originally architected the service, you needed to have the tracking script installed for the Recent Readers widget to work. This caused us to unintentionally bury the reader roll code. Good news, though, because the Recent Readers widget now functions completely independently. Plus, we're redesigning the registration process so that you can jump straight to the Recent Readers code after signing up. But for the time being, this is a quick guide to getting the code.
- Make sure you're signed into MyBlogLog
- Go to your blog's community page on MyBlogLog (you can get to this by clicking on the screen shot of your blog on your profile page)
- On the right-hand side is a Recent Readers widget, with a button below it labeled "Click to Get the Code". Click that botton.
- On the resulting page, you can fiddle with the colors and other attributes of the Recent Readers widget, such as the widget's width. You can see the color changes in realtime; everything else requires clicking the preview button. If you want to make further changes, hit the back button and keep fiddling.
- When you like the way the widget looks, click the preview button and then grab the javascript in the box labeled "Recent Readers Widget Display & Code".
It's going to get much simpler very soon, we promise
