I got a fever, and the only prescription is more Twitter!

I loves me some Twitter.  I didn't always, though.  I thought it was obnoxious, all these people at SXSW twittering to one another.  What's that all about?!?  And then everything changed one day when I walked out of Circuit City seething about their nonexistent customer service and realized that I could have vented right then and there, if only I had signed up for Twitter.  Since then, it's become a constant companion, causing my phone to buzz with tales of Todd's brush with the law, Tom's rapidly cycling mood swings and Beach's non-stop playlist update.

As of today, your Twitter can now be broadcast on MyBlogLog too.  If you have a Twitter account, just go to your MyBlogLog profile page, click the link under your screen name and you can automatically display your latest Twitter post on your MyBlogLog profile page.  If the Twitter guys add third-party authentication we have a couple of other cool ideas.

So that it's for now.  Go grab a Twitter account and then hook it up to your MyBlogLog profile, cuz MyBlogLog + Twitter = Crazy Delicious!

Meet Our Newest Hot Member: Killcreek

It's my pleasure to introduce you this week's Hot Member, Killcreek, or Stevie Case, one of the baddest gamers out there.  If you're a gamer and you haven't heard of Stevie, then you really can't call yourself hardcore.  Well you can, but no one would respect you.  ;)

Stevie is a gaming celeb with the killing cred needed to really make her mark in the industry.  Now she's the Dir of Business Development at Tira, a wireless company here in San Francisco.  All that, and she's absolutely gorgeous too.

Killcreek has her MySpace and her Kiva page on MyBlogLog.  Her Kiva page showcases the women-owned businesses from developing countries which she's supporting (via business loans) and spurred me to find out more about Kiva.

I recommend you spend some time on Killcreek's MyBlogLog page, leave her a message and get to know this beautiful and talented woman, who spends her time and money on causes that matter to her.

So there!  You've got two beautiful 'Hot Members' to ogle.

Got a recommendation for a 'Hot Member'?  Of course, you don't have to be beautiful or a woman to get the gig, just a 'Hot' MyBlogLog member.  If you want to recommend someone, including yourself (self-promotion is always ok here), send it to me at robyn@mybloglog.com with the subject, "hot members'.  Because we will likely get a great quantity of these emails, I regret that this will be one of the only customer service emails that may not get a reply (but will still be read).

Web Analytics Pro Gives Away A MyBlogLog Pro Account

We really like the MyBlogLog Pro stats, but then we're biased.  ;)   I got an email earlier this week from Manoj asking if we'd donate a Pro account as part of the prize on a contest he's having over at his blog, and after seeing the blog contest we thought that would be a great idea.

I am looking for new posts on the topic specified below, I will be posting all the submissions on my blog and the post which receives the most visitor traffic after 1 week after their submission is posted will take home the prizes.

The Topic

"The Future of Search Marketing"

Sample Ideas (be as creative as you want)

- Google's continued dominance

- Upcoming marketing products

- Personalization

- Top 10 List why SEM will not exist

So, if you've always wanted to go Pro but didn't want to spend the money, here's your chance.  The contest has some other really great prizes that would be especially important to those hoping to make money with their blog (and many of us are). The contest ends on May 9.

UPDATE:  The contest is on TechMeme.

Calling on Interns

In addition to full-time programmers, MyBlogLog is looking for a couple of paid interns for the summer.  If you have some mad tech, business or community skills and want some killer experience, drop me an email at eric@mybloglog.com and tell us what you can do and when you can do it.

Requirements:

  • You have to be proficient (but not necessarily a ninja) in either tech (think LAMP), community or project management.
  • Must be available to work / meet in our Berkeley office three times a week.
  • Must be self-motivated.  We're going to give you projects and help you finish them, but the bulk of it is in your hands.  Don't do the time if you can't do the crime ;)

Looking forward to working with you!
